FET CITY EXPO 2017

CDETB is bringing together all of its Further Education and Training Colleges into one venue for an exciting demonstration of what we can do on Tuesday 7th February.Further Education and Training Dublin City EXPO

This Further Education and Training (FET) EXPO will make students aware of the 400 excellent PLC options that are available to them at Level 5 and 6 across the city of Dublin.

This FET CITY EXPO will take place in Liberties College, D 8 on Tuesday 7th February from 11.30 – 3pm. (Liberties College is on Bull Alley Street opposite St Patrick’s Cathedral).

We promise a fun event. Students will experience everything from Science to Sport, Motor Mechanics to Dog Grooming, Healthcare and Catering, Dance and Drama, what our Rock School is like, what it really means to Animate and much more.

Enrolling now for PLC Course 2017/2018

PLC Business Studies QQI Level 5 full time one year course.

This course aims to provide students with business and computer skills which will enable them to seek employment in a variety of business roles develop their enterprise skills or progress to higher education. Subjects include a variety of Business and IT subjects including Web Authoring and Manual & Computerised Payroll. We have a career guidance officer to advise and support students in seeking employment or moving onto further education on completion of the course.

* This Post Leaving Certificate (PLC) courses are open to school leavers who have completed Senior Cycle or left senior cycle early. It is also open to mature adults and social welfare participants.

* (Students aged under 26 who are getting a reduced age-related Jobseekers Allowance, maybe entitled to a Maximum BTEA rate of €160.00 (subject to social welfare criteria)

Litter Patrol

Our new Litter Patrol got underway this week despite the downpours of rain.  Thanks to the many volunteers from 1stand 2nd Year “many hands will make light work”.

 

The Litter Patrol will clean up after lunch break every day and will actively recycle the rubbish into the correct bins Recycle or General Waste.  They will visit the student and staff canteens to collect the organic food waste like fruit peels and tea bags to bring it to the compost bins.   Students will also ensure that used ink cartridges from the computer rooms, classrooms and offices go to the special Ink Cartridge Recycle Box in the Hallway.

Good luck to all the students involved in helping to make Cabra Community College a Green  School!
