On Wednesday 18th May 2016 class 3A were awarded their JCSP portfolios. This brought three years of hard work for all involved in the programmes on a close. There was a display of students work in the hall for parents to see and a summary of all the projects and events the students were involved in. MS O' Reilly the Principal welcomed the parents and congratulated everyone including the students who were awarded certificates for attendance, or participation across all the events in the school. Some students were awarded silver certificates while one student Alex Cullen was awarded a Gold Certificate. Mrs O' Reilly thanked the Ms Coffey Brady and all the staff for their hard work with the students. We invited back our last Principal Ms Kathy Jones and welcomed our new Deputy Principal Ms Pauline Queally at the event.

Ms Codd the Transition Co-ordinator gave an introduction to Transition Year at Cabra Community College. It will an exciting challenge for students but they must be committed to it. Students will have to complete an application form and undergo interview. Transition year will be hard work, enjoyable, exciting and rewarding.

Litter Patrol

Our new Litter Patrol got underway this week despite the downpours of rain.  Thanks to the many volunteers from 1stand 2nd Year “many hands will make light work”.

The Litter Patrol will clean up after lunch break every day and will actively recycle the rubbish into the correct bins Recycle or General Waste.  They will visit the student and staff canteens to collect the organic food waste like fruit peels and tea bags to bring it to the compost bins.   Students will also ensure that used ink cartridges from the computer rooms, classrooms and offices go to the special Ink Cartridge Recycle Box in the Hallway.

Good luck to all the students involved in helping to make Cabra Community College a Green  School!
