VTOS Office Administration with Reception & IT SKills

OFFICE ADMINISTRATION WITH Banking & Insurance AT CABRA COMMUNITY COLLEGE (Starts September 2017)

(This is a VTOS programme open to unemployed adults who are receiving a Social Protection payment. To qualify for this programme, you must be receiving a Social Protection payment for at least 6 months and be over 21 years of age.)

Qualification / Certification

QQI Level 5 Award in Office Administration 5M2586.

What is the course about?

This VTOS programme is designed to provide students with the high level knowledge and skills required for a career in many public and private office environments such as Office Admin/Clerical Officer roles, Front Office/Reception roles and Customer Service/Support roles. Students on this programme are assisted with work experience placements in Office Administration environments.

How will I learn? How will I be assessed?

You will have a mixture of classroom-based subjects, practicals and work placements. You will be expected to complete assignments throughout the year and exams for some modules will take place at the end of the year.

Career/Progression opportunities:

Will this course improve my career potential? Graduates from the programme may apply for positions in Administration, Customer Service, Secretarial and Receptionist roles in: Solicitors Offices, Medical Practices/Hospitals, Schools, Insurance and Banks, Local Authorities, Civil Service and general offices in both Private and Public sectors.

On successful completion of the course students can apply to Universities, Institutes of Technology and University Access Programs to study at degree level.
