Introduction of new free Schoolbooks scheme for Junior Cycle students
The Government has introduced a new scheme from the start of the new school year 2024/25. Under this scheme all schoolbooks and core classroom resources for students in Junior Cycle years will be provided to students directly by their school. There is no charge to parents/guardians for this.
Junior Cycle students will receive the following items free of charge from September 2024:
- All textbooks
- Workbooks
- English novel
- 1 Calculator
- 1 Geometry set
- One Student Journal
- Copybooks
- Folders
All schoolbooks, workbooks and novels etc will be on loan to the students and must be returned at the end of the school year. Students must provide their own pens, pencils, rulers etc.
Cabra CC Enrolment Fee
The enrolment fee for Junior Cycle students for 2024/25 is €40. This fee covers items that are not included in the new free schoolbooks scheme:
This fee will cover the following important items:
- Student Insurance
- Locker fee
- Extra-curricular activities fee
- Buses to Events
- Guest Speakers
The fee can be paid by card in the school office or online via the school website (www.cabracc.ie).
The enrolment fee must be paid by Friday 30th August 2024.

Mobile Phone Policy 2024/25
Last year the use of mobile phones by students on school grounds was a significant problem. To address this issue we are introducing a zero tolerance policy towards mobile phones this year. Please see full details at the link below:
