Educate Together Ethos

Educate Together

The Educate Together model is founded on a commitment to parents, staff and students to run schools based on equality and respect.

The Educate Together core principles are: Educate Together.jpg

Equality-based: All students have equal access to the school and no one religion or worldview is given priority over another within the school.
Co-educational: All students are encouraged to explore their full range of abilities and are provided with equal opportunities regardless of their gender or identity.
Learner-centred: Our student-centred approach means that we put students at the heart of all policies and practices and involve them in decision-making.
Democratically run: We run on a democratic basis, encouraging active participation by parents and students in the daily life of the school whilst positively affirming the professional role of the teachers.

Educate Together second-level schools:

• are state-funded.
• are non fee-paying.
• have no compulsory uniforms.
• are open to all students.
• teach Ethical Education.

Ethical Education

Cabra Community College is committed to the values laid down in Educate Together’s Charter and does not provide Religious Education or Instruction to our students. Cabra Community College students will study Ethical Education as a key part of the curriculum.

Ethical Education offers students the opportunity to meaningfully and critically reflect upon the world around them. Ethical Education focuses on questions of equality, justice, sustainability and active citizenship. Educate Together schools teach Ethical Education as an independent subject at second-level.
